At what point do you stop?

Dear Apparition Weaver,

At what point do you stop forcing your way, and working hard to keep a dog (any pet) around when they seem ready to go? That’s the point we’re constantly facing with Chewbacca right now. That can be one of the hardest aspects of the elderly dog, outside of their anxiety they get, the pains that can’t entirely be controlled, and their mental decline.

Chewbacca, is our 17 year old Shih Tzu. Yes, 17 as of the 10th of May.
